Bruce L. Ross
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC #34852) with over 30 years of experience in working with teens, individual adults, couples, and families. After graduating with a BA in psychology (honors in psychology) from the University of Kansas in 1973 my wife and I moved to Santa Cruz. Rather than immediately progressing to graduate school I chose to pursue my other passion; music and acoustic guitars. In 1976 I co-founded the Santa Cruz Guitar Company and for 13 years built acoustic guitars used by some of the world’s most influential players such as; Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Elvis Costello, Tony Rice and Norman Blake, to name a few. In 1989, feeling I wanted to return to my original calling, I sold my interest in SCGC and enrolled in a Masters of Counseling program at the University of San Francisco where I received my M.A degree. I have also had extensive training in hypnosis and hypnotherapy as well as mediation and collaborative law.
